Securing Saint Catherine Airport x Dar Al Alamia
Share
As part of Egypt’s national strategy to enhance tourism and infrastructure, Saint Catherine Airport has been undergoing major redevelopment to accommodate increased passenger traffic and strengthen its role as a gateway to the Sinai region.
At Capital Guard, we were entrusted by our partner Dar Al Alamia Construction to supply and program full fire-alarm and firefighting systems at this key airport facility. This project underscores our commitment to delivering integrated safety solutions in even the most challenging and important environments.
Our Scope of Work
In collaboration with Dar Al Alamia, Capital Guard was responsible for:
-
Supplying and programming conventional & addressable fire-alarm systems by Notifier across critical airport zones.
-
Supplying FM-200 clean-agent fire-suppression systems by Hygood for sensitive zones requiring rapid protection.
-
Supplying foam-based firefighting systems by Ansul for generator rooms and high-risk equipment spaces.
-
Integrating all fire-systems into a coordinated safety response framework, enabling central monitoring and incident response.
We took particular care to ensure the systems were in alignment with airport safety regulations and operational demands, ensuring minimal disruption during commissioning and full readiness for ongoing operation.
The Setting & Significance
Saint Catherine Airport is a key component of Egypt’s ambitious “Great Transfiguration” development initiative, a national project designed to enhance infrastructure and boost tourism across the Sinai region. As part of this effort, the airport is being transformed with expanded runways, upgraded terminals, and increased passenger capacity, positioning it as a modern gateway to one of Egypt’s most significant cultural and natural destinations.
Providing life-safety systems in such an environment presents unique challenges, including remote location, rugged terrain, high ambient temperatures and the need for systems that are responsive, reliable, and built to last.
Why Our Contribution Matters
Safety in Critical Spaces
In an airport environment, fire-detection and suppression systems cannot afford downtime or delays. By supplying advanced, integrated systems, we helped the airport enhance protection for passengers, equipment and operations alike.
Optimized Infrastructure for Growth
With the airport’s capacity being significantly upgraded, including apron expansion and terminal enhancements, our solutions support the broader infrastructure vision, enabling future growth and operational scalability.
Integrated Response Capability
Rather than delivering disparate systems, Capital Guard’s integration of alarms, suppression and foam systems into one coordinated framework enhances response time and clarity in emergency scenarios.
Tailored for the Environment
From sensitive generator rooms to open terminal areas, each system was selected and programmed according to site-specific risks and operational requirements, ensuring high performance in unique conditions.
